The DRI Application Process

The DRI Application process helped build on past efforts, focused attention on strategic investments, and identified other near-term projects that represent the next phase of development within the DRI boundary. The City has undertaken numerous planning programs in recent years that have built consensus through robust public participation efforts, creating momentum for implementation.

01: Downtown Vision

Guiding framework for the DRI Strategic Investment Plan.

02: Goals

Identify conceptual ideas that DRI Plan should address. Priority Projects are organized by Goal to ensure that the DRI Plan addresses core objectives.

03: Strategies

Specific outcomes that the DRI Plan should achieve. Strategies can be used to develop metrics to track the impact of Priority Projects.

04: Implementation

A strategic investment plan for projects, actions and initiatives.

The Local Planning Committee (LPC) worked with the consulting team, state planners, and key municipal representatives to guide and direct the establishment of a community-based vision for revitalizing downtown and the development of a Strategic Investment Plan.

These strategic investment plans examined local assets and opportunities and identified economic development, transportation, housing, and community projects that align with the community’s vision for the downtown.

These projects are poised for implementation and can leverage and expand upon the state’s $10 million investment.
